Product & Mia
How is this different from ChatGPT?
It’s built on similar underlying technology but configured very differently. General chatbots are designed to sound smart and answer anything. Mia is designed to say “let me check with the owner” whenever she isn’t 100% certain. That restraint is the entire design philosophy. She only knows what we train her on: your pricing, your policies, your voice.
What happens if Mia gets something wrong?
Mia is explicitly built to never confirm availability or quote prices on your behalf. Every booking still runs through you. If a guest asks “is May 15 open?” Mia says “let me check and confirm” rather than guessing. That’s not a setting, it’s a design rule. Every conversation is also logged to your dashboard, so any thread can be reviewed.
How does the handoff to me work?
Mia qualifies, gathers details, and flags the hot leads. You receive an instant alert with the key details: timing, scope, urgency, budget signals, and any special requests. From there you text or call them personally to confirm. You remain in the conversation for the final yes. Mia simply saves you from typing the first five messages at 2am.
What kinds of businesses is Mia built for?
Mia works for any local Coachella Valley business with high inbound inquiry volume. Restaurants (reservations, takeout, private events), HVAC and home services (emergency calls, quote requests), spas and salons (appointment bookings), vacation rentals (booking inquiries), and similar service businesses. If your customers regularly text or call asking questions before they buy, Mia probably fits. Not sure? Reach out and we’ll figure it out together.
Does Mia handle Spanish inquiries?
Yes. Mia detects the language from the lead’s first message and replies in kind. If a customer texts in Spanish, Mia responds in Spanish, qualifies them in Spanish, and sends you the hot-lead alert in English so you never lose context. No setup required, on by default for every client.
What if I already use a booking, scheduling, or PMS tool?
Mia handles inbound SMS and email through your dedicated FlowDesert line. She qualifies the lead, flags the hot ones, and hands them to you. Your existing booking system (OpenTable, Resy, Tock, Hospitable, OwnerRez, ServiceTitan, etc.) keeps doing what it does best. Most clients use Mia as the front-end qualifier plus their existing platform for the actual transaction. No replacement, just a layer in front.
Setup & Onboarding
How long until we’re live?
5 business days from completed onboarding. Days 1-2: intake form and kickoff call. Days 3-4: we build and train your Mia on your pricing, policies, and business. Day 5: you review and approve, then we go live. Every client receives a dedicated 760 area code number so customers see a local line.
Do I have to change my existing phone number?
No. You get a dedicated 760 business line for Mia. You decide where to put it. Most clients use it on their Google Business Profile, website “text us” widget, Instagram bio, business cards, and signage. Your existing personal/cell number stays untouched. If you want to forward your old number to Mia, that’s an option, but most clients keep them separate.
What do I need to provide during onboarding?
A 15-30 minute kickoff call plus a short intake form. We need: your pricing structure (basic), your service area, your after-hours rules, your top 10-20 most common customer questions, and your voice/tone (formal, casual, friendly, etc.). We do all the technical work. You don’t touch any code, settings, or integrations.
Do I need any technical skills?
No. Zero technical work required from you. We handle the Twilio setup, the AI training, the workflow configuration, the email integration, and the dashboard provisioning. You receive a live system, a 760 number to advertise, and an alert format we agreed on. That’s it.
Pricing & Plans
How does the founding rate work and what happens after 3 founding clients?
The first three clients across all tiers receive $50/mo off their tier for life plus a $0 setup fee (vs $299 standard setup), in exchange for a 30-day case study (your performance numbers and a short testimonial once you’ve seen results). Founding rates: Starter $249/mo, Standard $449/mo, Pro $749/mo. Once those three spots fill, standard pricing ($299/$499/$799) takes effect for new clients with the $299 setup fee. Founding rates lock in for the lifetime of your account, no rate hikes ever.
How do I know which tier is right for my business?
Start with how many inbound SMS inquiries you typically get per month. If you’re under 100/month (most solo operators and small businesses), Starter fits. If you’re between 100-350/month (most growing operators with steady inquiry volume), Standard fits. Above 350/month (high-volume operators, multi-location, peak-season HVAC, large STR portfolios), Pro fits. Above 700/month you’d want Enterprise. Easiest path: start on the tier you think fits, upgrade for free anytime if you cross the cap. Overage above your tier is $1.00/conversation, so even if you guess slightly wrong, you’re never stuck.
What counts as a “conversation”?
One conversation = one back-and-forth thread with a single phone number, from first inbound message to handoff or close. If the same person texts you three times in one day asking different questions, that’s still one conversation. If they reach out again two weeks later about a new booking, that’s a new conversation. Spam, opt-outs, and accidental wrong-numbers don’t count.
What happens if I go over my conversation cap?
Mia keeps working. No service interruption. Above your tier cap it’s $1.00 per conversation. We notify you when you hit 80% of your cap so you see the pace. If you’re consistently over, we’ll recommend the next tier up, which is usually cheaper than paying overage long-term. No surprise bills, no service stops, no leads missed.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. No long-term contracts, cancel with 30 days notice. The 30-day beta guarantee also applies to your first month: if Mia doesn’t deliver at least one qualified hot-lead alert in your first 30 days, full refund. No clawbacks.
Is there a referral program?
Yes. If you know another local business owner who could use Mia, we have a referral partner program that pays cash, not account credits. You receive a one-time cash bonus when their first payment clears. Starter referral pays $150, Standard pays $250, Pro pays $400. Paid via Venmo or Zelle within 48 hours. No pitching required, no cap on referrals. Reach out directly if you want the full details or want to get set up as a referral partner.
Trust & Support
Who runs FlowDesert? Who do I actually talk to?
Vince Noel, founder, born in Palm Springs and based in La Quinta. He builds, runs, and supports every client account personally. You have his direct phone, his email, and access to him during business hours and beyond. No support tier, no ticket queue, no offshore team. If something breaks at 11pm on a Saturday during Coachella, he picks up.
What’s the 30-day money-back guarantee?
If Mia doesn’t deliver at least one qualified hot-lead alert within your first 30 days of going live, we refund the entire first month. No clawbacks, no questions, no “but you didn’t promote your number enough” excuses. Either she works for you or she doesn’t.
Where is my data stored?
Your conversation data is stored in our secure infrastructure on US-based servers. Twilio handles SMS routing (US-based, SOC 2 compliant). Anthropic’s Claude API handles the AI responses (US-based). We never sell or share your customer data. Each client’s data is isolated. If you cancel, we delete your data within 30 days of off-boarding unless you request a longer retention window for tax/legal purposes.
